Tea Bun – Back Country Cottages Grey Jay Mascot Plush with Bird Sound
Meet Tea Bun! 🐦
Bring home a little piece of Back Country with Tea Bun, the official Grey Jay mascot of Back Country Cottages — a little bird with a pretty special story behind his name.
The Story Behind Tea Bun
Tea Bun was inspired by one of the Back Country Cottages family’s most treasured memories.
Marilyn’s dad loved traditional Newfoundland tea buns — soft buns made with raisins and, of course, best enjoyed with a cup of tea. While spending time at Back Country Cottages, he would share little pieces of his tea buns with the curious Grey Jays that came to visit.
One friendly bird became such a familiar visitor that Dad affectionately named him Tea Bun.
Today, Tea Bun is more than a mascot. He’s a reminder of those simple Newfoundland moments — time spent together, a cup of tea, a friendly bird stopping by and the little memories that often become the ones we treasure most. ❤️
Now you can take your very own Tea Bun home with you!
This adorable realistic Grey Jay plush wears a Newfoundland tartan scarf with a custom pin featuring the Back Country Cottages logo. Give him a press and Tea Bun even makes a realistic bird sound.
He’s a special keepsake for Back Country Cottages guests, Grey Jay and bird lovers, or anyone who appreciates a little piece of Newfoundland with a story behind it.
